RECOGNISING EXCELLENCE IN LOCAL GOVERNANCE
ELoGE is a programme promoted by the Council of Europe. It consists of a recognition awarded to local authorities that have achieved a high level of democratic good governance in accordance with the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance.
ELoGE is a tool for Local Councils to understand their strengths and weaknesses and to launch actions to address the latter in the most efficient and effective way.
The programme is promoted by the Local Councils’ Association of Malta, with scientific support from ISIG – Institute of International Sociology of Gorizia. LCA will coordinate the implementation of the programme at the national level, engaging Maltese Local Councils and facilitating participation, while ISIG will provide methodological guidance, scientific expertise, and support for the adaptation and application of the ELoGE tools.
