The Local Councils’ Association is currently participating in the kick off meeting of the Meshartility Project held in Brussels from the 29th to 31st May 2012. This project is financed under the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Programme. The project has two main aims, namely to explore challenges and barriers relevant to the collection of data related to emissions, proposition of solutions to overcome such difficulties and utilities on how to deal with such issues so as to develop a win-win situation.
The project is composed 12 countries from BG, HR, CY, DE, EE, PL, RO, ES, IT, LV, MT, SI. The consortium brings together energy agencies, associations of Municipalities, utilities and technicians. Throughout propose the project they will discuss and propose improvements to the legal and voluntary EU and National frameworks through round tables, framework agreements, local agreements and existing good practices. The action will lead to the development and implementation of SEAP’s based on a bottom up data in 14 project areas of 12 countries (BG, HR, CY, DE, EE, ES, IT, LV, MT, PL, RO, SI). All the SEAP’s project developed will be implemented during the project timeline and investment plans will be prepared.
