The LCA launched its TV programme on TVM, the national public station, today with the participation of the Hon. Chris Said, Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information. Dr. Said is also responsible for Local Government and has been spearheading a change programme since May 2009. This initiative sees one of the main platforms of the Strategy Plan being implemented by the LCA. The programme is the result of lenghty negotiations with Government but finally our work has paid off.
The programme is being financed by the Government, the LCA and a minimal contribtion from the participating Local Councils. In all the series will have 25 programmes. 20 sessions have been allocated to the Local Council on a first come first served basis. Local Councils have been requested to contribute €200. The first 20 Local Councils which submit the fully paid-up application will be allocated one slot on the programme.
